Haggerty Dog Training in the News and Media
Famous Clients
Babette Haggerty is following in the footsteps of her dad, Captain Haggerty and is busy creating her own impressive list of famous dogs and owners with whom she has trained. While training in Palm Beach, she became known as “Palm Beach’s Favorite Dog Trainer”.
While her list of Palm Beach clientele looks like the social page of the Palm Beach Daily News, some of her more famous clients include:
Jack and Barbara Nicklaus – Babette taught his Golden Retriever Cali, to bark the number of times he won the Masters.
Jimmy and Jane Buffet – Babette taught their Maltese to dance to Margaretville.
Curt Gowdy – Babette taught his Rottweiler to say, “Go Reds”.
Dan and June Rooney – Ambassador to Ireland and Owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Senator Lautenberg and Bonnie Englebardt and several others who have asked her to sign a Non-disclosure agreement
Training famous owner’s dogs does not make us better dog trainers but Captain Haggerty has probably trained more famous people and their dogs than any other dog trainer. The following clip is from Movieline magazine. However, a complete list is much more comprehensive. It is available upon request.
The legacy that began sixty years ago continues. Captain Haggerty is responsible for making “dog training a respected and valued profession”. It has been said he did for dog training what the Beatles did for rock n roll.
His daughter, Babette Haggerty, has one mission. To Train Every Day Families to Have Once in a Lifetime Dogs. “I want to give families the dog that all of their dogs past and future are measured against.” A Bergen County native, she began working in the family’s upstate New York kennel as a young child.
She continues her family’s tradition by offering private in-home lessons, puppy training, obedience classes, problem solving, house training and dog trick training throughout South Florida. Babette’s latest book is “The Best Dog Tricks On The Planet”
